The 2025 / 2026 GMC Yukon
In 2025, the GMC Yukon got bigger and bolder. This continues through 2026. With a mid-cycle enhancement, major design updates, and a new trim package, GMC is elevating its full-size SUV driving experience for the fifth-generation Yukon. The 2026 Yukon maintains three rows of luxurious seating for up to 7 passengers, with 8-passenger seating available. The new updates revealed for the all-new Yukon include its first-ever AT4 Ultimate trim, new 24-inch alloy wheels and tires, updated exterior features and updated connectivity with a new roof-mounted 5G fin.
Refreshed Interior
Major interior design details for the 2025 / 2026 Yukon include a Connected Camera feature for in-vehicle livestreaming via smartphones. A new gauge cluster, steering wheel, and steering wheel buttons have been revealed. A new cockpit layout with Digital Precision Shifter (DPS) mounted on the steering column, replacing the push-pull buttons found on non-Denali trims. And there will be two larger infotainment screens: a central horizontal orientation behind the steering wheel and portrait-style on the center stack.
Safety and Driver Assistance
GMC will offer over 15 standard safety and driver assistance features, including automatic emergency braking, rear cross-traffic braking, blind zone steering assist, front pedestrian and bicyclist braking.
Yukon XL
The 2026 Yukon XL is an extended body style, available in all trim levels in the 2025 lineup. According to GM Authority, the new Yukon XL adds additional third-row legroom and 145 cu. ft. of max cargo space.
Duramax Diesel Engine
All trims are available with the 3.0 litre Duramax Diesel engine, offering 305 HP and 495 ft-lb of torque.
Towing Capacity
When equipped with the Max Trailering Package and either the 6.2-litre V8 or the 3.0-litre Duramax Diesel, the 2026 GMC Yukon has a towing capacity of 8,200 pounds. With the 5.3-litre V8 and the Max Trailering Package, the 2026 GMC Yukon has a towing capacity of 8,400 pounds.
Both The 2025 and 2026 GMC Yukon come with the following trailering technology built-in:
- Blind Zone Steering Assist: alerts drivers and provides a brief, firm turn of the steering wheel when a potential crash is detected with a moving vehicle in a side blind zone that is extended to trailer lengths.
- Transparent Trailer View: uses a tailgate-mounted camera and a customer-installed auxiliary camera available on the rear of a compatible trailer to help virtually see through the trailer to view objects or vehicles behind it.
- Trailer Reverse Trajectory: adds rearward guidelines to track the path of the trailer when backing up.
- Trailer Tire Health: enhances the Trailer Tire Pressure Monitoring System by adding leak detection, tire life monitor, and an over-speed warning.
- Jackknife Alert: tracks the position of the compatible trailer in relation to the vehicle to notify the driver if facing a potential jackknife situation.
